There was a time in my life when I was a really light sleeper. I mean, really light. I remember my...
Larilyn's Tip of the Week: Microsoft Word - Seamless Page Break
I have a pet peeve.....and it's pretty nerdy of me.
Sometimes, if I have to work on my laptop without being connected to external monitors, I get annoyed by how small the screen can be. And this is never more true than when I'm having to type something in Microsoft Word that is several pages long.
WIthout fail, when I start to go back through the document to edit and make sure things make sense, I get frustrated that there is SO MUCH SPACE between the bottom sentence on one page and the line at the top of the next page.
Maybe I'm being overdramatic, but I start to have short term memory issues and suddenly can't remember where the sentence left off by the time I get to the next word on the next page. Which makes editing frustrating, or formatting frustrating, or just working in Word frustrating.
Luckily for me, there's actually a way around this silly problem. You can basically turn off a feature in Word so that each page seamlessly runs together, without the inch or two chasm that usually separates the pages.
In Word, simply click on File, and go all the way down to Options.
This will bring up a box. On the left, you will want to choose Display.
And then you will see that that top option is to Show white space between pages in Print Layout View. If you want to have a seamless experience, then UNCHECK that box. And then hit OK at the bottom.
And just like that, no more feeling like you're jumping between pages!
At this point, are any of you surprised that something so simple could make me so happy?
